Family Living For many adult individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) and autism, there comes a time when their needs can no longer be met in their home of origin. PA Child’s Family Living Program can offer a natural home setting where the individual can be properly supported in a least restrictive environment possible. This program offers individuals with qualifying disabilities the opportunity to live with a person or family who will share in their life experiences and assist them in meeting their everyday needs and long-term goals. The Family Living Provider may glean the rewards of gaining a life-long companion and the satisfaction of helping another person. Family Living Providers are granted a non-taxable stipend and room and board payments to subsidize household costs and provide for the individual’s needs.
